The previous owner didn't use it for 30 years, but he did say that he had acquired it from Alice Walker, author of _The_Color_Purple_. I don't know anything else about its history, but after loads of cleaning and restoration by me and some fine tuning by the magical Michael McQuilkin, it doesn't sound half bad (albeit often still too loud to blend with voice and other instruments).

After 18 months, my arrangements and my playing are still very basic, yet I feel like this 25-year-old song just keeps getting more relevant as we stray farther from its message.
