American politics was Lawrence Lessig’s main focus, and by proxy, mine as well. With my continued tech and fundraising support, he’s now been leading an effort to dismantle the electoral college, so we can end (part of) the system that supports the minority-rule plutocracy/kakistocracy in which we’re currently embroiled. If you stop to think about it for a second, it’s not hard to draw a line from Trump and wealthy white supremacy, to “law and order” (a code word for racism), to the electoral college, to slavery, to colonialism and imperialism, which leads right back to, wait for it: money. Money, or perhaps more abstractly, greed, is, in fact, the root of all evils. Everything else is just a symptom.
